MELROSE MCT OIL (500ml)
Melrose MCT Oil
Melrose MCT Oil is metabolised quickly to provide energy (twice the caloric energy of carbohydrates). Melrose MCT Oil may be used in cooking but should not be used for deep frying. This product is intended for occasional use only during periods of intensive exercise, such as by triathletes, marathoners and other endurance athletes. This product is not intended as a sole source of dietary fat since it contains no essentail fatty acids (EFA’s). Failure to use with vegetable oils may result in EFA deficiency.
MCT Oils are a superior energy source
MCTs are unique as they’re shorter chains than other fat sources. Because of this they’re easily absorbed and digested making them a more readily available energy source. MCTs mimic the function of carbohydrates as they deliver energy, but unlike carbohydrates, they can also help to build lean muscle, burn fat and they also play a key role in the production of ATP.
They’re especially beneficial for fuelling physical exertion given their high energy density content, rapid rate of absorption and quick metabolic conversion into cellular energy. Additionally, MCT Oil is beneficial post workout to prevent muscle breakdown and assist with muscle growth.
What’s the difference between MCT Oil and Coconut Oil?
Well, Coconut Oil does contain MCTs, however the predominant MCT in coconut oil is Lauric Acid (C12). While Lauric Acid is technically a MCT it acts more like a Long Chain Triglyceride as it can take longer to digest than other MCTs like Caprylic acid (C8) and Capric acid (C10).
Our MCT Oil contains Caprylic acid and Capric acid to ensure the fastest energy delivery possible.
Build muscle, burn fat
Supplementing with MCT Oil may assist with weight loss as it can help to suppress appetite and reduce cravings by increasing the feeling of satiation. Our MCT Oil is also lower in calories than other fats and unlike MCT powders is completely carb free. Ideal for those following a keto or high-fat diet, our MCT oil is a great source of healthy fats and can help maintain the state of ketosis.
Add to your coffee
Tasteless and odourless, MCT Oil can be added to any meal to enhance its nutritional profile – in fact, it’s the perfect accompaniment to your morning brew.
Combined with the stimulatory effects of coffee, MCT Oil can provide a much needed morning kick to get the body and brain ready for the day ahead. This combo also makes a great pre workout drink.
You can take MCT Oil as a shot, or go all out and add it to a smoothie or use it as a salad dressing. However you use MCT Oil, you’ll be taking advantage of the variety of benefits it has to offer.
Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT) are derived from Coconut Oil. MCT consists of food grade Caprylic (C8) 65% – 75% and Capric (C10) 25% – 35% acids with less than 0.5% C6 and less than 1% C12 esterified to pure glycerin
Take one teaspoon per day and gradually increase to 1 to 3 dessertspoons per day. This product should be taken only with food since intake on an empty stomach can cause nausea.
Consult a doctor before use if you have diabetes, cirrhosis, acidosis, ketosis or other liver problems.
